GCI Consultants was retained by the owner to provide mixed-income high-rise envelope consulting for the exterior building envelope systems, including glazing, cladding, waterproofing, and roofing.
During the pre-construction phase, GCI facilitated meetings with key stakeholders, including subcontractors, materials manufacturers, general contractors, architects, and owner representatives. These conferences were essential for reviewing contract documents, approved submittals, and anticipated jobsite conditions.
As the project progressed, our experts conducted periodic jobsite inspections to observe and report on the installation of building envelope components. These visits were strategically scheduled to verify that subcontractors were adhering to architect-approved contract documents. GCI performed rigorous ASTM E1105 water penetration resistance tests on installed glazing systems and prepared detailed written reports confirming test results, providing valuable documentation for the project.
Finally, we offered special inspection services with Professional Engineer supervision. Upon satisfactory inspections, our team prepared and issued Statements of Inspection, signed and sealed by a Professional Engineer, confirming that glazing anchors were installed in compliance with approved plans and permit documents.
