Shauna Serafini, RWC, REWC, FMPC, is a Senior Consultant and Expert Witness for GCI Consultants, and she has been a member of the GCI team since 2009. She manages our technical teams for both forensic and construction projects while also providing expert testimony and litigation support services. She has decades of experience working with exterior glazing, walls and waterproofing systems, specializing in the design, installation, water infiltration resistance and performance assessment of these systems. Her project history includes high-rise, mid-rise, multi-family, commercial, institutional, and hospitality buildings.

Shauna holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and is accredited by the Fenestration & Glazing Industry Alliance (FGIA) as a Fenestration Master. She is also accredited by the International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC) as a Registered Waterproofing Consultant (RWC) and Registered Exterior Wall Consultant (REWC). In addition, she holds a Certified Building Commissioning Professional title from the Association of Energy Engineers and a LEED Green Associate credential by the United States Green Building Council (GBCI).

As a Senior Consultant at GCI, she has consulted with owners, architects, engineers, insurers and builders on hundreds of projects throughout Florida and the United States. Shauna provides expertise and leadership to GCI’s junior staff. She oversees and leads the forensic evaluations of the building envelope and analysis results. This includes providing expert testimony and support strategies to clients and legal counsel.
